We havent posted any updates in a couple of days. He still has a residual cough from the pneumonia, but his doctor had a chest x-ray done Thursday and his lungs were clear. Thursday was a busy day - The chest x-ray required an ambulance ride to the local hospital, as the facility doesnt have an x-ray machine. He also went through assessments by the staff at Brookridge. During my visit, I asked him a few questions, such as, Where are you? and answered, Morrilton. Speech is still very slurred. Friday was the first real therapy session. From what I understood, the speech therapist was off that day for a funeral, but the occupational therapist handed him a damp wash cloth and told him to wash his face, which he did. Then he was given a sponge swab dipped in mouthwash and was told to swab his mouth. I wasnt there, but was told that he did not swab inside the left part of his mouth - only the right side. They sat him up on the edge of the bed. On Saturday, Mom & Jeff watched the Razorback game with Dad, but he rested during much of the game. Im guessing he was tired from the big move Wednesday and the busy days he had on Thursday & Friday. He had some company - one of his granddaughters and her husband with three of their girls came by. Today, I saw him twice - between church & lunch and then on my way to the evening worship service. Several of our church friends stopped by for a short visit. Mom & Jeff spent a while with him this afternoon. While I was there this evening, the Kentucky basketball game was on (poor Montana State), and I talked about the game a little. He was awake for a while and made some comments, too, but I couldnt understand his speech today. I played a YouTube video on my phone (link to video I played for Dad - https://youtube/watch?v=ifCWN5pJGIE), and his face lit up as if he enjoyed the music. I told him a little about the group (Pentatonix) and asked him if he liked it and he said yes. Tomorrow he should have more therapy. Thanks to all for your continued prayers!
