Heres an update from Atco Electric: January 16, 2014 ATCO ELECTRIC RESTORING POWER AFTER YESTERDAY’S WIND STORMS Bonnyville, Alberta — ATCO Electric crews have been working through the night restoring service to customers as quickly and safely as possible after severe winds caused outages to much of Northern and East Central Alberta yesterday. Power has been restored to the following communities in the Bonnyville District: Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Smoky Lake, County of Smoky Lake, St Paul, County of St Paul. We are working on restoring power to the following communities and will continue to post status updates on our website at atcoelectric and through twitter at @ATCOElectric. Bonnyville Rural, Cold Lake Rural. Please remember that if you see a downed power line, do not approach it. Customers should always assume that power lines are energized. Keep back a minimum of 15 metres or 50 feet from the wires or anything in contact with the wires. Contact ATCO Electric at 1-800-668-5506 to report power outages; sagging, damaged or downed overhead power lines and poles; and any lines that may have come in contact with farm outbuildings.
