We knowers are by now mistrustful of all kinds of believers; our mistrust has gradually accustomed us to infer the very opposite of what was once inferred: wherever the strength of a belief comes very much to the fore, we infer a certain weakness of demonstration, an improbability of that which is believed. We do not deny that faithbeatifies: for that very reason we deny that faith proves anything--a strong faith that beatifies raises suspicion against what it believes; what it proves is not truth but a certain probability--of deception. -Nietzsche
