We leave in just a few minutes for a surgical consultation. This - TopicsExpress

We leave in just a few minutes for a surgical consultation. This one is for the second surgery to close the wound the removed tumor and muscle leave behind. It will take place a couple of days after the initial one to remove the tumor, once we are certain the surgical margins are clear. These meetings remind me how fortunate I am to be surrounded by a loving and care-giving community that keeps flexing to address the uniqueness of my condition. The medical community, for instance, has to change a good number of their normal protocols for surgery because I am allergic to narcotics and the adhesive on most bandages and tapes used to cover the wound. My family has to keep adjusting its lifestyle and plans to accommodate whatever medical schedule develops. They and I live in three month increments and have for a long time. All of these loving people tell me I am worth it. They say they learn from my medical case history. They say they are better people because we have continued on in the middle of it all. They say this is our journey together. This is a profound way to know that God sees me and continues to bestow his mercies...new every morning.
