We left the big city life to move to northern MN. We have a flick of about 30 chickens, five goats and two miniature horses. It gets COLD here. Im wondering if any of you live where it can get to -30 and have goats. If so...which kind? Right now we have Saanens and of our original six...we have one female left. They all have hay, fresh water and shelter. We bought the goats to clear buckthorn. Its a nasty invasive bush/tree that snuffs out all other vegetation. I just want a hearty breed that will eat buckthorn and survive the winter.
