We live in a society where everyone is so ready to give voice to their opinion; so much so, that a few smart people took note of this and monopolized it. This is where we get Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. I love Facebook, don’t get me wrong!—but this social media platform has laid ground for some of the most opinionated and narcissistic people to ramble on about their ‘1st world problems’ and deep (!) opinions on life. Furthermore, if you dare not share the same opinion as them, they vilify you. I fully understand that this is their page and they can carry out what they want on it… but I also feel like they need to pick the things they pour their time into with a little more discernment. If we just spill every thought we have onto paper (or rather, Facebook) than when we actually have something truly important to say, it is all the more likely to be overlooked. Facebook is a platform that gives us free access to many ears… why not take advantage of this and say something that matters? The voice of an individual can be greatly dulled by extensive inconsequential speech.
