We made a surprising and sad discovery tonight when we let Black Mist and her cria out of the barn to go to the pasture: the cria is blind. It wasnt obvious when he was in the barn, and hes so young that acting a little goofy and clumsy is to be expected, but when he was out in the run with Black Mist it became apparent that he couldnt see her and was following her based on her humming alone. When she got too far away he would turn in circles trying to find her apparently. So heartbreaking. We have some research to do and are optimistic hell be okay, but he definitely has a challenging life ahead of him.
