We need to pay attention to the appearance our business properties and our neighbors. It has been over 7 months now since Sandy. We need the island to get cleaned up. Take the plywood down, and address the situation. Even if you are not opening for the season due to $ or lack of fema and insurance help or lack of a contractor yet, the abandoned look is hurting us all. If you have a store front by you ask if they need help, or what the problem is. Maybe you can help. A vacant store front could be used for something helpful while you are regrouping. We could be putting up posters for upcoming events or an oversized Calendar of events for foot traffic to check out, instead of a vacant building inside looming behind the glass. Please contact me if you are willing to have your window front used for the good of the island.
