We need to save the IBA English News! We call upon all members to immediately contact the individuals listed below in order to register their anger at the potential dissolution of this critical service. Using either the letter below or - in your own words - please act quickly and send either an email or (preferably) a fax to these people. Time is not on our side but the numbers are! When we speak with one voice and share the same message, there is a greater likelihood that we can overturn this terrible plan. SAMPLE LETTER Dear ____________: I rely on the English broadcast of IBA TV News to keep me informed. In fact, I plan my day around its scheduled broadcast every evening on Channel 33. When I learned that IBA was being reorganized, I worried that the English news would disappear but was reassured that it would remain. There was no reason to protest. Now that I learn, however, that the English news updates on Channel 1 will disappear forever and the English news will be aired at3:30 pm! Unacceptable! Five oclock was difficult but manageable. But 3:30 is impossible and demonstrates an arrogant indifference to our important community. DO NOT CHANGE THE TIME OF THE BROADCASTS! English language broadcasts are vital not only to native born English speakers; they allow countless numbers of immigrants and visitors from the entire world including diplomats and respective embassy staff to understand the events in Israel as they unfold, from the sources that tell our story best.
