We praise and venerate your name, O God, for the wisdom of your Son Jesus who breaks open for us the magnificent richness of your kingdom. He compares it to a living process of seasonal growth, something in the manner of wheat, barley, figs, or olives. We depend upon the benevolent richness of the rain and sunlight that is your divine touch, O God, to help us grow in holiness and peace. Without your heavenly nourishment, we are bound to wilt and wither. With the aid your Son’s example, we shall grow a hundred fold in all that enriches your kingdom, now and forever. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen Like most gardeners, the sower in Jesus’ parable sows his seed in hopes of eventually being able to harvest a crop. The sower knows that if he sows the seed and waits long enough, the seed will grow and mature into crops, yet he does not understand how this works—only that the harvest will come. The seed may produce a single stalk of grain or the greatest of all shrubs.
