We see innumerable people in our daily lives outside our residential compounds. Most of them, most things and events go unnoticed and unheard except a few not-so-common, not-so-expected incidents. A bloodstream alongside an injured body at the spot of a dreaded accident, a disabled beggar who neared you with his begging bowl, a madman who assaulted you in the street, a discarded foetus on a deserted road, a Deepika or a Brad walking down the road or inside the train are signals and get captured in the mind. These signals stand out against the noisy moving crowd and attract the attention of the beholder. They impinges on the brain to create an impression either pleasing or horrific that will last for at least a day. In line with the above, my meeting a doctor in the Woodlands is now a fresh memory. I accompanied my mama while visiting his chamber. I talked with him for her. His mild nature, good manners, cleanliness and most importantly his humble way of dealing with my mum and me have easily pleased me and the sweet memories still pervade in my mind. Normally doctors are arrogant and haughty with patients, esp. when they belong to reputed hospitals. He is an ophthalmologist. He is Dr. Swagupta Halder. My mums words for him were: May God give him healthy eyes till death!. This is the blessing of a mother much older than him. Prayers are not necessarily required to be spoken before the Lord in a temple: they come spontaneously when you can touch someones heart, when you are good, kind, or do good to others, when you deserve them. If someone, esp. elders say, That boy or that girl is good., that is in itself a prayer/blessing for him or her. And my wish was: O God, please send me a lover like him!. If such a man proposes to me, Ill always be ready for an immediate yes. Another impression on my mind is that of an air hostess in the return flight. She and her voice looked different from that of a normal gal. It was like of those gals belonging to the LG BT community. My cousin was also of the same opinion. But my cousin and I also know such persons are not allowed to be air hostesses, which means she isnt such. But Ill affirm her looking different from other normal gals. It was a subject of gossip between my cousin and me during our journey.
