We see way more cats that have noses too long and low and too - TopicsExpress

We see way more cats that have noses too long and low and too domestic/barn cat. That is what really needs to be worked on in addition to ears. If every once in a while one is on the shorter side it is better to lean that way. Type can be hard to keep. Eyes should be round but not overly big or owl like. The Scared or electrified look is not sweet, cute or cuddly. I also get confused about the excuses for big ears. I produced smaller, rounded ears on my first breeding. If some have bred for years, what is the issue? The bottom line is I started with a very nice Napoleon and bred to a Persian.....kept a baby....bred that kitten back to a Persian.....kept a baby....bred back to a Persian. Now I can breed Nap to Nap, but you have to work with Persians for a good while to get to that point. I am just being straight forward as many keep asking how I achieve my look. It is not meant to be derogatory, just the plain and simple facts. I have only once had a kitten that was leaning toward extreme in all these years and it did not even have a break in the end. If you look at catteries that meet the standard, some have two year waiting lists and some have trouble selling kittens with massive advertisement. If I were a new breeder I would follow the standard with the vision of the founder in mind and I would especially look at what the high demand breeders are doing in their program. It is directly related to the sweet open expression, delicate features, Persian influence, temperament and health. JMHO. :) This is one of the first Napoleons I produced, a chinchilla silver.
