We should honor all our current military personnel and veterans - TopicsExpress

We should honor all our current military personnel and veterans without the need of an anniversary date to mark the occasion which brings me to the point of my post. This is the World History teacher in me but why is it only an historical marker when a bunch of white guys do it. So WWII began on Sept. 1, 1939? Tell that to the Chinese. On September 19th, 1931 Japan invaded Manchuria after the Japanese created a false cause called the Mukden Incident. This is the same tactic Hitler would employ 8 years later in Poland to initiate his invasion on September 1st, 1939. Six years after invading Manchuria and its subsequent occupation between 250,000 and 300,000 Chinese would be massacred in an incident called the "Rape of Nanking." Post war tribunals would convict and execute those responsible. This should be the marker for WWII, not Hitler invading Poland....
