We shouldnt have to #makethecase for Net Neutrality, Comcast. You also should have put the disclaimer that NBC Universal is a Comcast-owned company at the beginning of the clip instead of the end. So, the best arguments for opposing net neutrality you could come up with is scare tactic (911 calls should have priority over fantasy football) and a false comparison (Google partnering with AOL about 10 years ago to be the default search engine for their website). Not very convincing. I doubt small municipalities will have the capital to pay for priority treatment of 911 calls compared to the big business of fantasy football. If it were based on merit instead of cash, then yes, I think we could all agree a 911 call is more important, but I dont think we can all agree that 911 calls WOULD get priority if it was based on who could pay the most for fast access. The comparison given that Google benefited from becoming the default search for AOL also rings false to me. It did get a huge advantage from people who didnt know or didnt care enough to go to Yahoo, Alta Vista, or any of the other competing search engines of the day. They had an advantage, but it wasnt that their results came back 2-3 times faster than other search engines, they just had AOLs audience funneled to them (and really good user interface and search results that kept people happy with their service). The quality of the product would not matter if the service is being choked out by slow speeds because a new upstart company cannot afford an internet fast lane.
