We signed Linebacker Shaun Phillips on Thursday. For his career Phillips has accumulated 508 tackles 79.5 sacks 22 forced fumbles and 7 interceptions. Phillips is more of pass rush specialist but he can be an every down player. Hes not a young player anymore in terms of NFL longevity but he still has enough to produce on defense. This could turn out to be a very productive acquisition if he remains healthy as he could improve our pass rush by a good margin. If nothing else he adds good depth to the linebacking corps. and the identity of the defense continues to be defined as a physical and a high pressure defense. Maybe a return to the glory days as thats was how our team was successful. Having a good strong physical defense that put a lot of pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
