We, the people who watch the rest of the world from our air - TopicsExpress

We, the people who watch the rest of the world from our air conditioned homes, comfy couches and big screens, tend to focus on the military aspects war and in-fighting. These sweet, innocent faces tend to get lost in the larger picture and this sad, horrible reality is a byproduct of war for many humans today. Human greed, blind desire and unwavering focus are all sweeping mentalities that affect the once invisible. With the level of ease in capturing these truly golden hearts on video in todays world, we should all be forced to face the shame and deep seeded pain that comes with this visual. We dont have to feel shame for having personal luxuries, but the shame I speak of comes with the realization that we have allowed greed to creep in and drive our daily actions. My heart cries out for peace, but my mind reverberates the dark reality that is a 10 year old child who is digging through the dirt on the side of a road for crumbs of bread to put into water soup. I broke down and cried at the site of this video. These innocent angels should be able to be a kid and enjoy this world yet they are living a life of hardship. We are blessed beyond measure to have what we have. In fact, we have most things IN EXCESS!! God chose to put me where I am for a reason and I am extremely happy for that, but that should not allow us to wear blinders and act like this harsh reality is not truth for others in this world. I pray for these children to be blessed with guardian angels to stand over them and protect them as they venture out in this world that sees them as insignificant and unworthy. For in my mind, they are beautiful examples of how God has chosen to teach this world about unconditional love. These are the faces of the most significant byproduct of selfish human desire to be right. Lets make a point to begin to pray, if you arent already doing so, for these brave children. They live a nightmare life, not by their choice, but out of necessity. My heart is broken, but I am so much more thankful for the smallest of blessings.
