We went to Rainier yesterday and rode the train from Elbe then went up to Paradise to see the wildflowers and do a little hiking. The wildflowers were INCREDIBLE! The boys loved the train, of course, although Rhys was pretty scared by the loud whistle. We picked up a couple of toy train engines and the boys have been completely obsessed with them. While we were hiking the boys stopped two complete strangers - other hikers that we passed - to tell them about their trains. Then we ate dinner at the pizza place in Elbe that is in a train car on our way back home. Poor Rhys was so tired that I had to force him to eat the first two bites, and then I still had to feed him like a baby until he was halfway through the slice because he apparently did not have the strength to feed himself. Alonzo spent half the time whining about not being INSIDE the train, only BESIDE the train (we were eating outside at a picnic table). But we eventually got full tummies and headed home, only to stumble in the door and go straight to sleep. But we made it to church in time for Communion today! Juuuust barely though..... 8/3/14
