We were asked to rescue several aussie dogs from a NC Shelter - A local to the area - a woman named Tammy Renee Thomas who resides in Raleigh NC emailed me and then called offering her assistance to go assess the dogs and get them out of the shelter asap. She pulled the dogs out under her boyfriends name since she had no drivers license and we were not registered to pull the dogs under our 501c3. I was told by the shelter that it would take 2 weeks to process our application to pull animals. I thought Tammy was a good samaritan but she is not. Once Tammy drove the dogs to shelter and went to the vets office for vaccinations and heath certificates Tammy showed her true side. We paid the vetting bill for the aussie dogs. Rusty one of the Aussies got a broken leg while in the shelter and needed immediate care. He is very painful and is on pain meds but needs surgery asap. We paid for xrays for Rusty and sent them to our specialist in NY and had the Doctor that saw these dogs wrap Rustys in order to ready him for transport here in NY. We had our surgeon on stand by to fix Rustys leg. He has a broken fibia and tibia. Once we paid the vet bill for the dogs in NC Tammy wanted me to pay her over $900.00 to release the dogs to our transport driver who was arriving that evening at 7pm. We agreed to pay the pull fees which was $70 per dog but that was it. At this time Tammy has refused to put the dogs on transport until I give her the money. She also placed one of the dogs in a foster home with the option to adopt and is now threatening this poor woman that she wants the dog back now and the dog is a sweet Aussie but very nervous. Tammy and her boyfriend are driving around with the dogs at this time along with two other dogs she pulled from the shelter and some personal dogs. You can imagine the scenerio. Tammy is driving around with these dogs as she told me she cannot take the dogs to her house as she told me her neighbors hate her and she has to many animals. Rusty is in pain and needs to have surgery. We are writing this post so you can reach out to Tammy and tell her to send the dogs to rescue where they can be properly taken care of.
