We were fours with a sub last week. We decided to use the sub slot to have players sub out from one team then sub into the other, and so on and so on. IT WAS GENIUS!! IT WAS GENIAL!! Eric, Doig, Fleet, Kevin, BFung, Joe Joe, Sam, Jeff, and Starsky played in a swirl of shirt colors like the glug of half and half tumbling into the coffee and getting its stir. Everyone was a winner! We played three crisp games on a grey day. The shutter of fog that was predicted to roll up briefly and let the sun shine through reneged. Our games this day all had back and forth qualities as the teams arced through their transformations. There were ups, there were downs. There were downs, there were ups. Eventually we ended up with all the taller players standing across from the shorter players. UNUSUAL!! Fleet, Sam, Jeff and BFung were full of frisky giddyups and low centers of gravity; Doig, Kevin, Joe Joe, Starsky and Eric were all XL waving arms, and claymation long-strides. It was a good time. For tomorrow: The prolonged visit from the fog we have been ongoingly enjoying will continue anew. The forecast ominously calls for 95% cloud cover, 100% humidity and 0% chance of rain at first pull. Temps fall into a trough at that time as well, which seems to indicate that we may be quite possibly playing our games on the inside of a cloud with the door closed. Winds will try to blow -- from the NW between 5-10mph -- but will need to do so all afternoon before skies start to crack back open later in the day.
