We were saddened to hear today that an icon in parenting classes and baby gear has closed their doors yesterday. Isis Parenting, which had many locations in Massachusetts, closed all of their centers down with an abrupt announcement yesterday after 10 years of being in business. While they were not on the North Shore and we never felt like we were in direct competition with them, although we were concerned at times they would make their way up here, it shows how important it is to support your local businesses that make up your towns. I will even admit that this was not a business that I saw failing, yet it did. Please take time to support your local stores. If you are in the town where the store is, take the time to visit them personally and make a purchase. Tell your friends about them. Write on facebook about them. Blog about them. Spread the word. The less we support our local stores, the more of them will be going away forever.
