We were supposed to have class on Executive Management but our Prof. required us to attend a film showing in place of our attendance in class. I thought we were going to watch Maleficent and since i dont have anything going for the day, i decided to come. Our section bought a ticket and in it, there are the captions Souled out. I got a feeling it was a Christian film showing and thought it would broaden my knowledge about religious arguments. The film ran, and it was the movie God is not dead. I thought it was interesting as i had seen it in a trailer. We watched the whole movie and boy do i f*cking want to go back in time, get my 20 Pesos back and went home. The movie was suuuuper offensive not only to Atheists, but also to Muslims and logical Christians. There was this overly-militant atheist professor and he forcibly endows them of the atheistic belief, it was somewhat abusive, then theres this Christian hero and the movie went along blah blah blah. As the movie ended, many of my classmates were awed and inspired, while i was shaking my head, facepalming and had tears in the corners of my eyes because of how offensive this movie was. To my surprise (sarcasm|, the film show was organized by a club in our University called The Campus Ministry. It was the 1st time i felt overwhelmed because out of a hundred, i am the only atheist in the film showing, it was NOT a good feeling. I wish i had not come at all to fulfill an attendance to kill time. Ugh...I do recommend you watch it though, if you come crying because of how offensive the movie is, thank you because you shared what i gone through (well.... w/o watching it with a hundred Christians) :) Jon Lauren Aranda BSBA-BM 3rd Yr.
