We win! We Win! No, I’m not talking about the Super Bowl or World Series, but the fact that when Christ returns the scoreboard for believers will say “We Win!” Jesus has already secured the outcome of the ongoing battle between good and evil. This is the content of today’s Our Daily Bread. The author wants the reader to gain that comfort that, come what may, our eternity is secure. Why is this important? Because this life is frail and no matter how cautious we may be, people die and we can expect to die too. Dying without making a decision to believe in Christ and accept His free gift of salvation means being “consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death,” while the believer can expect to spend eternity in the New Heaven where, “there will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” A much better eternity.
