We would hope that no one would ever be cruel to an animal. Sadly, some people commit cruelty against animals repeatedly. One particularly cruel treatment of animals is cockfighting, a horrific blood sport that results in painful injury or death for the birds involved. RSPCA Inspectors last week successfully prosecuted a repeat offender for cockfighting-related offences, in the Sunshine Magistrates Court. The accused was convicted and was sentenced to a 240 hour community correction order, as well as being banned from owning poultry for a further ten years (in addition to an existing banning order). If you are aware of cockfighting activities, report them to RSPCA. Cockfighting is illegal and will not be tolerated in our society. Report cruelty: bit.ly/1vkgFg3
