We would like to use this group, to do something good for our wounded & disabled military veterans. They are all heros and we would like to build a special home for them. Take a look at our vision and start making phone calls to Hunt corporation and your local politicians, to support this proposal. Thanks Ret. SMSgt. Scott Christenson HOME OF THE BRAVE- housing project for disabled, homeless, and military veterans, transitioning to civilian life. Proposal- The U.S. Vets want to Lease the property from us, and will manage the facility and provide job training & counseling for our military veterans. We would like to lease or purchase the BOQ barracks & Officers Club at Barbers Point, Hawaii, and remodel the buildings into housing for 228 veterans. The Officers Club will be a Recreation Center with a gym, classrooms, pool, hot tub, cafeteria, and a much needed kitchen so they can provide three meals a day, for over 300 veterans. The U.S. Vets can raise the money to remodel the buildings. WE NEED TO CONVINCE HUNT CORPORATION TO LEASE OR SELL US THE PROPERTY, FOR A HOME OF THE BRAVE . CONTACT the project manager for Hunt Corp. Jose Bustamante 808-792-3756 or Jose.Bustamante@Huntcompanies and ASK HIM TO SUPPORT THE HOME OF THE BRAVE. We need to get people and politicians behind this cause, to persuade Hunt corp. to work with us. Rail transit system will put a train stop, right across the street from the barracks, which will provide transportation to the airport and downtown Honolulu. The VA (Veterans Administration) remodeled the old hospital at Barbers Point in 2011, into a beautiful new facility, and its 1/2 mile from the barracks. Hunt corporation acquired the buildings from the Navy and they have been sitting vacant since 1992. Hunt corporation cannot afford to tear down the buildings because of the high cost to remove the asbestos and lead contaminants, but the asbestos floor tiles can be covered or encapsulated. They plan to use the buildings for low income housing. Home Of The Brave Ret.
