Weather Bulletin Number One Tropical Cyclone Alert: Tropical Depression “NANDO” Issued at 11:30 AM, 25 August 2013 (valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 11PM today) The Low Pressure Area East of Dinagat Islands has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named “NANDO”. Location of eye/center: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “NANDO” was estimated based on all available data at 290 km East of Borongan City (11.2°N, 128.6°E). Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center. Movement: Forecast to move North Nortwest at 13 kph. Forecast Positions: Tropical Depression “NANDO” is expected to be at 270 km East of Virac, Catanduanes tomorrow morning and at 340 km East of Casiguran, Aurora by Tuesday morning. By Wednesday morning, it is expected to be at 310 km Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan. •Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. •The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
