Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles Issued: 6:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2015 A high pressure system is the dominant feature across the region generating a brisk trade wind flow. Low level clouds moving with this wind flow will result in occasional cloudiness and passing showers across parts of the island chain mainly during the night and early morning period. Moderate to rough sea conditions are expected during the next 24 hours with swells peaking near 10.0 feet. Swells are expected to peak near 12.0 feet on the weekend. A small craft warning is in effect for above normal sea swells and high winds. Small craft operators and all users of the sea, particularly on the eastern coast, should exercise extreme caution.
