Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles Issued: 6:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2013 An increase in moisture levels generated by an upper level trough is expected to result in an increase in cloudiness with a few scattered showers across the island during tonight into early tomorrow. This will be followed by a gradual drying out of the atmosphere by tomorrow as the day progresses. Meanwhile, a small area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave is located about 260 miles East of the Lesser Antilles. This system continues to become less organized. However, an increase in shower activity is expected across the area by late weekend with the center passing north of the island chain. Another westward moving tropical wave is located about 780 miles east of the Southern Windwards. This system is expected to approach the area by Monday. Moderate sea conditions are expected during the next 24 to 48 hours with swells peaking near 7.0 feet. (WEATHER.GOV.DM)
