Webinar on Assessing Bullying, Violence, and Substance Abuse The U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is pleased to announce the National Center for Safe Supportive Learning Environment’s next Webinar event, Effective Strategies for Assessing Bullying, Violence, and Substance Abuse. It will be offered twice to accommodate schedules: -Session 1: Wednesday, June 12, 2013, 4:00 pm − 5:30 pm, Eastern Time -Session 2: Thursday, June 13, 2013, 11:00 am − 12:30 pm, Eastern Time This 90-minute Webinar will review strategies to design and conduct surveys to measure bullying, violence, and substance abuse. Specifically, speakers will describe elements of an effectively managed survey process addressing bullying, violence, and/or substance abuse; discuss the key elements of effective survey administration; and identify essential ways to measure bullying, violence, and substance abuse. Links to appropriate resources and examples of such assessments will be provided. Presenters for this webinar will include Lina Guzman, Survey Specialist, Child Trends, and Greg Austin, External Survey Developer for three S3 grantee states, WestEd.
