I, Chaplain David J Basham, hereby certify that Brian Ward has completed the required essay and has studied the required curriculum contained in the Basic Christian Chaplain Training program. Let it be known that on this date, in accordance with the spiritual laws by which the NACM is governed, and as authorized Chaplain certification officer, I, David J Basham, do attest to and certify that you have fulfilled our organization’s prescribed training requirements for the Chaplain ministry. Therefore, you are hereby recognized as an Independent Christian Chaplain with all of the privileges, rites, and responsibilities that follow this spiritual calling. You are hereby charged to uphold, obey, and advance the laws and teachings of Jesus Christ. Just as Christ did, you are also charged to honor the laws that govern the land where you perform ministry. As an Independent Chaplain it is your responsibility to stand above reproach, model the Christian faith through your lifestyle, and adhere to the expectations of local government. We hereby hold you voluntarily accountable by your request to be associated with our fellowship. This document does not guarantee employment as a Chaplain nor does it certify any type of secular education or training. You are operating under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution and under your rights as an independently ordained minister.
