Wednesday Sept 11th Recaps Majestics vs. 4th line heroes 4th line heroes were just no matching for the Majestics. Aging veteran Sabatino Settembre tried desperately to rally his teammates, but no avail. 4th Line Heroes found themselves only down 6-1 after two periods because of the stellar play of goaltender Sal Sgro who had 41 saves on the night. The Majestics were led by Jonathan Ferri (5G,1A) who displayed were poor sportsmanship; celebrating extravagantly after he scored to put his team ahead 9-1. The 4th line heroes need a lot of work if they want to contend in this league. The Dawgz vs. Subzero Damiano Savaco (2G, 2A) and Alex Gambino (2G, 2A) lead Subzero to its first win of the season. After falling behind early, Adam Giancola (2G, 2A) and Massimo Rapagnetta (3G) each scored on the power play in the 3rd to bring the Dawgz within one. But a costly Dawgz penalty late in the game halted the comeback as Subzero’s Daniel Bilotta scored to restore the lead to two. Subzero eventually won 9-7 in an eventfull first game. Blackhawks vs. Prospects Jordan Velenosi (2G) and Steven Ceh (2G, 2A) put in great performances to lead their team past the Blackhawks in overtime. This started slow, with both teams combining for 3 goals in the first two periods. But the 3rd was a complete 180. Down 3-1 late the game, the Blackhawks score 3 goals in 3 minutes to take the lead. With 45 seconds left though, Jordan Velenosi scores to tie the game and sent it to overtime. Within seconds of the restart, Steven Ceh sets up Jordan Velenosi again for his second of the game, and the win.
