Week 3 – Pets and Animals Week! In Week 3 of the Summer Holiday Club, we have been learning about pets and animals. We have been exploring the bug house, and creating animal arts and crafts – such as handprint butterflies, 3D snakes, animal finger puppets and animal face masks! We had lots of fun moulding our clay hedgehogs; and our snail biscuits and edible spiders looked too good to eat! We were visited by some pets, and spent some time with a hyper dog, a slow tortoise and some soft guinea pigs! Safari Stu brought in some creepy crawlies and snakes for us to look at – we were really brave and held them too! On our last day, the people from Pets @ Home in Biggleswade came to see us; they brought in a bearded dragon, some more guinea pigs, and two fluffy bunnies! Face painting was very popular, but the ‘animal’ theme was soon forgotten when we looked at all the different faces we could have! Then to end the week we had some popcorn and watched the animals in the ‘Over The Hedge’ movie night. Week 4 is Europe Week!
