Week of June 16th Random Hero Bible study Unity through sacrifice. We can accomplish nothing without being united as brothers in Christ. God requires us to check our egos at the door and put aside our differences so that we can do His bidding and not our own. Sacrifice is something Americans (myself included) struggle to comprehend at times. Society teaches us to take what is yours, and to climb over the bodies of your enemies to reach the top. This mentality creates a darkened heart and an inability to work as a team. Sacrifice your own selfish ambitions, wishes, and desires, and focus on others! Care about what they care about, feel what they are feeling, help those who need help! We dont need to live in a dog eat dog society. Christ came to show us the ultimate example of sacrificing oneself for the sake of unity through salvation. He was the embodiment of our living, breathing, all powerful God! He could have stopped all his own pain in an instant, but he didnt. He took the very nature of a servant, humbled himself, and was obedient to even death itself. Ultimate sacrifice. The sacrifices we brothers in RH make to tell others about Christs love embolden me. The unity we have in RH sometimes moves me more than the music that God helps us create. When people who follow Jesus are unified in this goal, people wake up, turn their heads, and listen. We have a responsibility to to bring the united love of Christ to all who have ears...and even those who dont. Love one another- Even if they share different beliefs, are from different age groups, have a different skin color, have a different lifestyle and background... Whoever they are... Just Love.
