Weekly Update January 16 & 19, 2014 The purpose of this “Pink Sheet” is to give you brief weekly updates on the events and progress relating to the construction of the new facilities. News from this past week: • This week: The workers are busy putting framing into the Church and Ministry Center area. Electrical outlets have been installed in the principal and pastoral offices. Shingling on the church roof was finished. Counter tops were installed in the school kitchen and cabinets were made for the kitchen off the Ministry Center. • At the weekly contractors meeting we were given a more specific schedule for completion of items in the school and secretarial office area. God-willing, the heat will be turned on in the Ministry Center on Monday, February 3. It is estimated that once the heat is turned on we will be able three weeks later to run water through the pipes and into the school. If this schedule is met, we will be able to occupy the office and school areas by March 1, 2014. • Moving forward: On February 10th they will begin installing the windows in the church and Ministry Center. Anchors for the steeple will be in place on the church tower by the end of next week. The church steeple which will reach an additional 35 plus feet into the air, is being manufactured offsite. • Our cabinetmakers continue to work faithfully providing cabinets for nearly every room in our new facility. These men have been putting in 40 plus hours of work on a weekly basis. Remember to thank God for them in your daily prayers. Also thank the Lord for the people who are providing these volunteers with meals on a daily basis. • Please remember that Monday, January 20 we will hold another congregational information meeting. At that meeting we will share with you a progress report on construction activity; a rough timetable for moving forward; and a financial accounting of moneys currently donated for our project. The informational meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. • This past week the editor of the Freedom Pursuit came to St. Peter to take pictures, tour our facility and ask questions about the project. Watch for an update in the paper in the coming days. • Next Sunday is our day for tours of the new buildings. After each service we will lead people through the rooms, especially the new school and office areas. The tours will be conducted after each morning worship service. If you wish to take a tour, please meet 15 minutes after your service at the Eastern most entrance to the School. • This week’s prayer: Heavenly Father, this week we want to stop and thank you for the many willing volunteers that you have given. Lord, you have given them their gifts and you have given them the willingness to use those gifts in various forms of service. Accept our thanks and please continue to bless these people with patience, strength, and whatever else they need as they serve you in this way. We also ask for your continued blessing on the construction workers. Keep them safe and guide them in what they are doing. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen. “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” Psalm 127:1
