Weird Bookstore Experience.. this will be long.. So I just moved and I am getting rid of some books (and CDs and and and) that I havent read or remember how I got and I took them to a used bookstore around the corner. One book, she said she could donate for me....a Dean Koontz novel with which she was not impressed. The other book is called the City of Joy..takes place in India around Mother Theresa written by a French guy with enough ornaments on his name that I am not going to try to type it here. She kinda freaked me out over that one. She opened the book and started smelling it like it was a fine cheese. Told me to smell it and asked me what I smell. I said an attic. Wrong! She smelled again, rolling her eyes in the back of her head, then asked me to smell again. Uhm..an old Army/Navy store? Nooooo!. She never did tell me what she could smell. She looked the book up on Amazon to see its collectability and worth. Not a whole lot YET, being unsigned. Then she gave me all sorts of directions on how to continue to take care of it, one of them being Do not read it!! Get it from a library or something. I am supposed to bring it back in 5 years and recheck the value...provided I have followed her instructions. (apparently its a first edition in great condition with a really good dust cover and and and) I will have to get it from the library though. Now I want to read the darn thing.
