Welcome! I am excited to share that I am running as a candidate - TopicsExpress

Welcome! I am excited to share that I am running as a candidate for Plainfield Village Trustee. On December 30, 2014, a lottery was held to determine positions on the ballot. I will be 4th on the ballot for Village Trustee in this Consolidated Election to be held on April 7, 2015. Over the past number of weeks while I walked door-to-door to ask for petition signatures, I heard a consistent message from the community; residents are concerned and agitated as to the “goings on” at Village Hall. The focus of the comments to me during this time were that of: “They (the Village Board) is a “clique” that seems to think the residents shouldn’t know what they are up to” “We (the residents) never know what they (the Village Board) are talking about because all we get is one sheet of paper with a vague description of the topic” “Everything seems to be decided on before they vote; no one asks serious questions about anything” “The Village spends more time kicking dirt under the rug, than they do addressing the issues” I agree! And I believe these comments can be summed up by saying there is NO transparency in our Village government. Not only do we have an issue with a lack of transparency within Village Hall, we have a lack of integrity and accountability also. I believe that Integrity, Transparency and Accountability are what local governments must provide. As your voice on Village Board, I will work tirelessly to establish all three and work for the community as a whole. Plainfield is fractioned, and this must change. Residents and businesses must work together and be seen as a whole to be a successful community – from boundary line to boundary line – encompassing all. From now until the close of the polls on April 7th, I will be adding to and updating my web site (Mark4Plainfield) often with answers to your questions and my positions on the issues that the Village has on their current and past agendas. The amount of support and encouragement that I have received in this campaign has been tremendous! I greatly appreciate the kind words and enthusiasm. I know that together we can bring positive changes to the Village; I ask for your support in accomplishing this by talking about me to your friends and neighbors. Please encourage them to be involved! I promise as your Village Trustee to listen carefully to your concerns, question the “status quo”, and bring your voice to Village Hall. The only way to make our community and our local government better is for more involvement by those who live here, and most of all . . . . please vote on April 7th!! PS: As a result of recent GoDaddy website upgrades, this site will be changed. This means that my website team will be focused on this current campaign, so if you want my past information, please view it now or wait until it is re-posted after the upgrade. I believe in transparency ~ you should have access to what I HAVE said, what positions I HAVE held (and still hold). **CAUTION** ~ Some may try to “buy” this race by outspending the other candidates, and others may try to “bully” their way into office with negative campaigning – I will NOT! I will earn your vote, by promoting transparency starting with my own web site. I will earn your vote by having integrity, by what I have said and what I am saying, and being accountable to you so you grant me your vote with confidence that I will do the same for you as your Trustee – your voice at Village Hall.
