Welcome To Tsakane is looking for actors and actresses, auditions will be held at Faranani Multi-purpose Community Centre in Tsakane, behind the Ekfm studios on Saturday 20 December from 8am - 5pm. Mandisa Khumalo_ (preferably xhosa speaking) (24-27) traditional female from rural Eastern Cape. She just got forcefully married to Bonga, causing her to leave her lover Sonwabile. Bonga Khumalo_ (preferably zulu speaking) (25-30). Traditional male from KZN who just got a new job in johannesburg, he isnt a self made man, his father has paid his lobola and he has bought him a house in Tsakane and hes about to start his life with his new wife. Kedebone Morema_ (20-23) mischievous female who owns a salon and shes also streetwise and ready to take on what life throws her way. MamMtshinga_ (30-35). Nosy female who sells fruits and vegetables just outside Tsakane Mall, she knows everything about everyone and she quickly befriends Mandisa, causing great trouble for her along the way. Nyeleti Khuzwayo_ (19-23) an aspiring female performer who has a quiet and calm nature to her who leaves home (Kwathema) to live in Tsakane to be closer to school. There she discovers and explores the troubles that come with being young and in love. Linda Sithole_ (19-25) an upcoming musician who is a pastors son who has to go through the pressures of being a young man being raised by a pastor who expects what feels like the impossible from him. He gets everything he wants from his parents, locally hes called a snob. Brother Agosto_(35-45) nigerian man who tries to make an honest living for himself until the continued difficulties around him begin to change him. Sonwabile_(25-30) (preferably xhosa speaking) traditional, rural determined man who just lost his lover due to selfish reasons of her parents and hell stop at nothing to get her back. Please dress as closely to the character youre auditioning for as you can and prepare a two minute monologue from any drama or play or one youve created yourself.
