Welcome To the Lions Club Hearing Foundation Our primary mission revolves around Sight & Hearing disabilities. On a Local Level through the Northwest Lions Hearing Foundation the Lions help hearing impaired citizens. Because of the desperate need for help with hearing loss the Northwest Lions Hearing Foundation offers 3 Programs that provide very low cost hearing aids to low income individuals in our community. Every infant born in Clark County has their hearing screened because of a grant initiated by Lion Rex Von Krohn, who passed away in 2004 and Audiologist Nancy Bowen a member of Columbia Crest Lions. The Lions are a funding source of last resort and will help those who otherwise could not enjoy the benefits of better hearing. Our Foundation is comprised of representatives from the 13 clubs in Clark County and the Woodland Lions Club and meets at the Blind Onion at 6:00 PM on the first Tuesday of each month. Requirements for assistance are: Program One: Residents of Clark County Washington or the greater Woodland area for a minimum of 1 year Income less than 100% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Have no other source of funding Supply a current audiogram Have a hearing loss classified as moderate or worse Supply photo ID and proof of income Complete an application for hearing assistance Program Two: Residents of Clark County Washington or the greater Woodland area for a minimum of 90 days Income less than 150% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Have no other source of funding Supply a current audiogram Supply photo ID and proof of income Complete an application for hearing assistance Program Three: Residents of Clark County Washington or the greater Woodland area for a minimum of 30 days Income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Have no other source of funding Supply a current audiogram Have a hearing loss classified as moderate or worse Supply photo ID and proof of income Complete an application for hearing assistance The application can be down loaded from fortvancouverlions.org/hearing-committee through the “hearing assistance application” selection or picked up at Secretary Rick Giles office at 8317 E.
