Welcome Women of the groups La Reunion Roja and Red Tent Medway and other invited women, I hope you are excited as we are about our upcoming extravaganza - WE look forward to communing with you all :D Some of the expected features: A Red Tent - What needs to be sourced for the red tent? • Bell tent / a 10ft x 10ft gazebo with all four side panels (shout out to the group’s members for the loan of one). • Portable Wood burning stove (shout out to the group’s members for the loan of one). • A couple bales of straw & bamboo placemats (to facilitate free bleeding). • Empty jam jars, Canvases, Large Feathers (to use as art brushes), Twine & ‘S’ Hooks to hang finished art. (To facilitate menstrual art creation). • Floating scented candles, bowls to float candles, tissue papered jam jars and LED battery candles for further ambience. • Aromatherapy oils. • Kettle (attendees walk with their own drinking vessel). • Camping water container with fresh drinking water. • Tea bags. • Hot water bottles. • Supplies to make menstrual pads – suitable fabric scraps/ quilting fat quarters, thread, needles, absorbent layer/s and sew on snaps. • Drapery cloths, throws, mats, floor cushions in hues of red and earth tones. • Red flowers and vases to hold them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An Event Tent - What needs to be sourced for the event tent? • A 10ft x 10ft gazebo with at least three side panels (shout out to the group’s members for the loan of one). • Folding tables x 3? (shout out to the group’s members to source some please). • Large white board. • One single size flat sheet cut in two. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Possible Focal Events that may be offered: Our community is filled with a wealth of talented women and young women, some of whom are willing to share their skills with all the community members; this is how it will be run - • There will be no set time for any other activity than what has already been given (see the first comment of this post to see each days timed events please). • Each person who would like to contribute their time or resources to sharing with others are welcome to add their info to the weekend’s event notice board (which will be found at the communal event tent). • They should list their name, the activity they wish to offer to the group, the time of the day they will be free to share and where they plan to hold said activity, ie; in a specific are of the field, by their tent (this will then need to be sign posted), etc. • To keep cost down as low as possible, please notice below the activities that may be shared and if possible please walk with the minimal supplies to do said activity. • There is no guarantee that all the listed activities will be shared, most of us will be there with children some more dependent than some, this may hamper a member’s initial ability to share with the group. At the communal event tent there will be supplies on hand to allow members to create a keepsake to take away with them to remember the Weekend. There will be a Birthing Way ceremony, if you are interested in helping plan this ceremony (two or three more heads of ideas will be great) and in taking part in this ceremony as an expected mother then please contact Vicky directly. There will be a Menarche/ Coming of age ceremony, if you are interested in helping plan this ceremony (two or three more heads of ideas will be great) and if you have a daughter who would like to be included in this ceremony then please contact Rekella directly.
