Welcome to #teamGDV Run Melbourne! Together we want to raise $40,000 to help 25 kids with vision loss gain independence. Guide Dogs Victoria Children’s Mobility Programs are designed for children who are blind and vision impaired in order to enhance their confidence, develop age appropriate movement and travel skills and achieve their potential in all aspects of life. Every dollar provides fundamental equipment and training to assist children who are blind and vision impaired to live more independently, for instance: $20 = Cool sunnies that cut down glare $50 = Basic white cane to aid a kids mobility $80 = Bright and colourful cane to promote active use and engagement with younger children $250 = Functional and necessary vision assessment with a trained specialist $450 = Mini Guide (a high tech, ultrasonic super-duper device that detects objects using echo)
