Well Crap not sure if it is better or worse, My Old Basset Willie had a lot of problems, including a large cyst on his hip, He was getting old and hardly moved but then would get a spry moment. I knew the time was drawing near that he would have to be put down. Tonight I looked out to see what the dogs were barking at and saw the County Deputies Anyway Gerald ran out to see what was going on and WIllie had gotten into the road and was hit by a truck. I grabbed britches and ran out and got there just in time to tell him it was OK to let go. It hurts and not a good ending to this day, but also there is a kind of relief that I do not have to make= the call to put him down. Willie was a Pain in the Ass during thunder storms, had his head up my butt for protection, I was his rock when he needed me, and he was mine when I needed him. I could tell him anything and rant and rave and it would be fine he would never tell on me. He was a work of art, but he was my buddy. I will Miss him for sure, but he is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge with Bones, Jerry lee, Lobo, and the others dogs I have loved through the years. Probably barking at someone to open the gate LOL.
