Well, First day in Shikoku has turned out to be pretty awesome! Staying with a lovely Japanese family with a really cool wooden house who fed me DIY sushi and yakiniku then took me to a performance and lesson of Awa-odori, the traditional dance style of Tokushima. I was crowned first runner up in the best beginner during the lesson(which was apparently also a competition!) and was given a tenugui (cloth/hand-towel type thing) with the name of the Awa-odori troupe as a prize. Then the guy running the lesson decided to give me the fan he had used to dance, which is pretty freakin cool if you ask me! The winner got was a groovy little Japanese lady who won a big purple flag (i like my fan better), waved it a bit and then tried to persuade me to come do a homestay with her in Nagoya! I think Im gonna like it here ^_^
