Well......I am breathing now. I have eaten, however I will say I still feel sick. Heres the latest on Andy. He has urachal adenocarcinoma. It is a rare form of cancer with very little..next to no studies or information available. He had a large (4.9 lb) tumor removed from his abdomen on June 24. Surgery and recovery went very well. Yay! A week after surgery we got the path report back stating that the tumor was malignant and malignant cells were found outside of the tumor. Sad news indeed. They gave him a few weeks of recovery to allow the inflammation to go down then ordered a PET scan. He was scanned yesterday. We then went back to Ft Wayne today to meet with the oncologists. They are AMAZING! We are so thankful for them. The scan was clean, however it is not able to pick up smaller traces of cancer cells. The doc feels sure that there are smaller bits of cancer elsewhere though. Andy will have a port placed next week. He will undergo chemo for 6 months then radiation will follow. This is all in an attempt to destroy those small cancerous clusters. He will then be scanned every 3 months to try and stay ahead of the nodules that pop up. The chance that they will pop up is high. This darn cancer is gonna be a tough one. Andy is maintaining a positive attitude so far. Yay! He is a very strong believer and feels that it is in Gods hands. He says he is not going to worry about it at all. Thats nice, but in reality he is likely hiding the fear. I, on the other hand, have bawled much of the day.....nearly puked several times....and he had to drive ME home. Lol I havent slept and yes, sleeping pills are my new best friend! Lol Beauty sleep is essential to keep from looking like an old broad! Ha Thanks bunches for the prayers and hugs. We all have struggles in life, and yes, it could be worse.😉😘
