Well I am officially heartbroken.... I am not going to make it to the Rogers Alumni reunion this year.. I was asked to speak at both the reunion as well as the residential home. So much time and effort I put into prepping what I was going to say. I looked forward to attending this reunion since leaving it last year. The months turned to weeks, the weeks turned to days. I was counting down. I was really excited to be there today. Unfortunately, they cannot issue me an emergency passport. Apparently, and it would just be my luck, that they have a backload of people awaiting emergency passports and have to prioritize who will receive them. Because I am not travelling (thankfully) to attend a funeral, or requiring surgery, and no immediate family issues etc. my emergency passport would not be issued for at least 48 hours. The reunion for me is a time to connect with some of the most wonderful people I have ever met and for me to revive own my recovery and I am so sad I cannot be a part of that. It is my own fault for not noticing my passport was expired, but it just sucks. I am really really sad :(
