Well, I cant believe how many times I have heard I missed you and glad your back in the last week and a half. It really makes me feel good to hear this from my friends, coworkers and residents cause anyone in the nursing profession knows you dont hear this enough and dont get paid enough...nursing is one of the hardest jobs you can have and anyone that can do it needs to be told How much they are appreciated. I take pride in taking care of my people, just a kiss on the forehead, an I love you, a hand to hold or just as simple as getting them a cup of ice or a pop, you wouldnt believe how happy it makes them. We are to care and respect our elderly and you know something, they DONT get the respect and care they need cause we are to busy doing paperwork or hurrying through our job just to sit and gossip or maybe not even come in to work just cause you dont feel good that day...well I hate to say it but one day we will all be in there situation so we all need to go above and beyond our titles and do that one little extra thing for someone, you wont believe the smile you will see on someones face...
