Well, I finally got myself one of these, and Im impressed. Its like a pizza stone, only better, and its indestructable. Its expensive, but cost about the same as all my previous pizza stones that have broken over the years. Im sure if youre friendly with a machine shop, they could make you something similar for less. On my first try, I got a thin crust with some nice char, very much like a good pizza place. Ive never done that at home before. Next time Ill try the preheat the oven, then turn on the broiler method described below. Havent tried it yet, but you can bake other stuff on it, and you can put it on top of the stove and use it as a griddle.
