Well I just need to make a comment about some stuff going on with the fair and some decisions made by the management and the apparently the board members as well. It is my knowledge that the livestock chairman solicits sponsorships to help to pay for the expenses incurred for the fair events in the livestock area. I guess now the powers that be have decided that instead of letting any profits after expenses are paid left in an account to restart the next years activities that they will take the profits and put them into the general coffer. The woman who is the current chairman has raised the event in the livestock area from the ashes to a great venue for our local youth as well as some really great families that come from out of town .I have heard that she is going to resign after this current year due to the callous treatment that she has been shown for her efforts. Many of we locals who have returned to participate with our kids and grand kids will also not be returning. SHAME on the DEF entities that be that are creating an environment we find unacceptable once again in this current regime of management! We all realize that the fairgrounds is in trouble financially but once again our local youth are not the ones that should suffer for this problem. Maybe if you asked they would help to do fundraisers and activities to aid in creating even more public awareness of the dire situation and help to make a solution! Rant over!
