Well, I saw governance in action this evening and it was not so pretty at first but it gussied itself up a bit later. Did you know that our county commissioners have to vote to direct the chair to direct the board secretary to disperse some book or another to department heads, in accordance with policy? Let it sink in...yep. That was the not so pretty moment. When the hot topic of sub committee appointments was discussed, I knew this might end as a knock down, drag out fight. It was a pleasant surprise to watch discussion and compromise lead the way to an amendment to policy passed with a unanimous vote. #Democracy?
