Well Ive had some requests to post the speech I gave yesterday at orientation to my first years and OLs and no one happened to film it so I guess I will... In this exact spot, for the past two years, Matt has given a speech to the incoming SSH students... This year... Hes your orientation captain. Last year, Ryan LePage was an SSH OL, this year.... Hes your Student Association PRESIDENT! Bottom line, SSH students do... Great... Things. Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to be as proud of yourselves and this faculty as much as myself, Jenna and all of the other OLs have been over the past two days. Orientation isnt just a competition, its more than that, its about coming together as a faculty... A family, meeting new people, some of which will be around for the rest of your lives. You are all part of something great, a faculty that refuses to be underestimated... people say that a BA degree is useless, and a waste of time, they ask What kind if job will you get? Well let me tell you... We become, lawyers, psychologists, police officers, politicians, creative professionals in advertising that help to drive the modern economy. And the list is far from stopping there. We are a faculty of free thinking individuals that can thrive and succeed in any situation were put in Our world could literally not function without us! We are a force to be reckoned with and when we enter that gym in only a few minutes, I want you all to know that Im extremely proud of each and every one of you and I want you cheer and scream with the fire and passion youve had over the last two days.... the fire and passion that you deserve and that has united us all. Lets show Matt and everyone else in that gym that we are as loud and proud as ever!! Because we.. Are.. Proud Now one last time... As a family... WHOS IN THE HOUSE!!!???
