Well another great Musical has come and gone. What an amazing performance put on by all involved. Actors, crew, faculty, parents, relatives, firemen, etc..... Starting to play with some ideas from a parent helping hand point of view for next year. Plenty of opportunity to get parents more involved in things other than ticket sales and gift tables (still appreciated and needed). Great chance to get creative with ideas for marketing, fundraising, community outreach to businesses, etc. Kicking around doing an informal gathering to generate some ideas and suggestions to benefit and support the school and the students/staff that make up the Drama Society. No idea is a bad idea.....except the one about putting whoopee cushions on all the theater seats (ok that was mine....see why we need help). Ill toss out an invite sometime over the next few weeks and whomever wants to come and offer up ideas is welcome. Of course anything suggested will have to be presented to the proper people for approval and feedback but Im betting theres some great marketers, sales reps, schmoozers and such among us and we just havent tapped in to all of that to make all the shows a sell out and tremendous success.
