Well be back to our normal hours after the holidays. We hope everyone is getting a chance to relax with friends and family now. Monkeys are good at relaxing; most seem to understand what really matters in life. Whenever weve seen them, theyre always spending time with loved ones. The video this month of the Kanpur Hero Monkey (youtu.be/yDcYpXYvg6M ) is just one recent example of how far they will go to help each other. More evidence of just how smart monkeys are! Its easy to see how one of Hanumans defining features, and a key element of the Ramayana epic, is his intense loyalty to Ram and Sita! And Hanumans devotion is now rewarded with devotion in turn: Hanuman is a beloved figure in Hinduism. Hanuman even has a 40 verse Hindu devotional hymn. There are several truly immense statues of Hanuman found across India. Among the biggest is a 41m high Hanuman monument in Andhra Pradesh, at Yerravaram. The tallest statue (leaving out the base, etc.) is Delhis own 108 (33m) Hanuman statue (108foot ). Monkeys, though sometimes cause problems in urban areas. There used to be a lot of monkeys in Shimla, but many of those have been cleared out now because monkeys were a little too effective in taking care of their own.
